Merry Christmas

The last day of school (Dec. 21) we had a schoolwide pajama day. We also have a parade using the teachers AV carts. Blaine got to push Mrs. True's cart shown above. He loved getting to wear his PJs to school.

Jace and Blaine after the Church Christmas Program. Blaine was a wiseman. The kids did a great job.

Blaine on Christmas Eve. Wondering what Santa will bring him. His favorite gift probably was FLOAM. (Styrofoam type playdough) It was a techno Christmas with a Gameboy, games for his Leapster LMax, and games for his Playstation 2. Wow!!! We did have a great one and are so blessed with great family and friends.

Kevin cooking on Christmas Day. It is a tradition that when we go to Dad's for Christmas we have steak prepared by Chef Carter. They were awesome.

Blaine Turns 7!!!

This is what a 7 year old looks like.

This is Captain America.... better known as Blaine. We had a fall festival at Church on the 19th. Travis (Associate Pastor) did the amazing work above.

We had a good time... My job was to run the jumpy joe!!!

Blaine jumping in the jumpy joe.... it was chilly. Later that night we had the big slumber party.

Here they are.... no Blaine isn't 25!!! 2+5 I try to make everything a learning experience. Not really... Just hadn't bought the 7 yet.

This is a fake.... Blaine, Zeke, Jacob, and Jace

This is more like it... Party, Party.... We did have good time!!!

The next day we attended Payton's theatrical performance.(He didn't attend the slumber party due to the Bulldogs in the playoffs.)Payton in the playbill gave a special thanks to his best friend Blaine. Paytonian remember us when you are a star on Broadway.

Payton, Conner, and Blaine...Hard to believe - Conner was one of my first Post Office employees when he was in third grade...... He has changed. Well it was a great birthday weekend filled with fun, friends, and festivities. Ahhhh... to be seven again.....

Happy Halloween

Well the Halloween "week" is finally complete. Blaine's social calendar has been pretty full. Last Wednesday we had Trunk or Treat at church. Here are a few pictures from the festivities.

McKinley, Blaine, Zeke, Jace and Payton ready to trunk or treat

Doesn't Landry look adorable as Tigger?

Payton and Zeke handing out candy from the Carter mobile. I think our "trunk" decorations were very festive.

On to the next social moment. Blaine helped host a "First Grade" Halloween party at Brant Walker's house. It was filled with pumpkin rolling, cake walks, and even a hay ride.... Fun, Fun, Fun. The "mummy" pictures are from the mummy wrap where the kids wrap toliet paper around their friend to create a "mummy"!!!

The mighty Power Ranger Blaine.

Have you ever seen Little Eli so still?

Andrew "wrapping" Blaine. What are friends for????

Last but not least.... Trick or Treating Halloween night...

Baby Deuce.... The cutest chicken ever.... Isn't he the cutest?

In Trick or Treat mode......Great decorations at the Kollmans.

Blaine had a great Halloween and he thanks all of you for all the treats. The picture shows the treats he got at the Streets' house. A $20.00 bill and golf balls. What more could a boy ask for? Hopefully your Halloween was filled with lots of treats and just a few tricks.
See you soon.

New Orleans

As I have stayed home and watched TV tonight, I am saddened at the state of New Orleans. The devastation is unbelievable and the strive of the people are incomprehensible. This summer Kevin took me to New Orleans for my graduation present. It was the first time I had ever been. It was beautiful and extremely hot. I thought I would include some of my pictures I took so you could see the New Orleans before the tragedy.

The wonderful cemeteries. Very intriguing.

There were very interesting street performers.

Jackson Square

French Quarter

All the walking we did....... but it was worth it for the beignets.

We ate at Emerils' NOLA Restaurant... the food was amazing

I found this site that is the local New Orleans paper...

Oh well, have a great night. It seems that things are looking up for the the hurricane victims. Help is arriving and they are getting some of the things that they need. It will be a long time before New Orleans looks like the pictures again if ever.....

We made it through another week

We made it through another week..

It seems like forever since I have posted…….
Things are going well.

Blaine has taken to digital photography as well.
Look at a couple of self portraits that he has taken himself.

Look at those gorgeous blue eyes.

Blaine also found out what happens when you play too long on the monkey bars at school. Blisters…..

2 on one hand
1 on the other…ouch

Last but not least we had the Alphabet Museum at schoolfor Fun Friday. Blaine had the letter Y. He made a yellow yield sign with yarn letters and a yardstick handle with a yak on a stand yielding.

First Day of School

Kevin always take Blaine to school in a "cool car" for the first and last day of school. This year is was a really fun jeep. Thanks to Terry Teague. Blaine loved it because it had no doors.

Blaine outside the school doors ready for a great day at La Mesa.

Well, we survive the first day of school. Blaine loves First Grade and his new teacher Mrs. True. I had a great day filled with Breakfast duty and Lunch duty for 3 year olds up to 4th grade. Tomorrow they are serving Frito Pie....wonder how many trays will be dropped by the PreK??? Hopefully I won't be wearing it.....

Have a great one.
